Mask determines which points will be drawn on screen. In spite of what points a file element has, you can decide what points are to be drawn e.g. sewers, buildings etc. This makes editing easier by reducing the number of points you are handling. The masking condition is given to a of group of points.
Collect a group of points and press the mask Add button. In doing this, the group of points now become the contents of the Mask. Cross the checkbox In use and the contents of the Mask (the group of points) are drawn. When you want to return to the whole picture, uncross the checkbox. When a group has been added, it is free for use in other functions. The group can be used to enlarge or reduce the Mask contents.
Mask will be used for points, lines and texts. Objects in the symbol list (coordinate crosses with texts) will be shown not depending on mask. The mask state is displayed in status bar.
The Mask is only used when the checkbox In use is crossed. Otherwise, all points will be drawn as normal. Mask can also be turned on/off with the shortcut key Ctrl-M.
N.B. the mask will hide a whole line, even if only one point is within a masked group.
You can add a new group to the Mask contents. The mask is cumulative.
With the Shift-key the old mask is cleared before adding points and the group is cleared afterwards. This can also be done by the popup menu command Create mask or by the shortcut key Shift-Ctrl-M.
The given group is removed from the Mask contents.
The masking conditions are removed. Mask is empty.
If mask is On while reading the first file in empty element list, mask will be turned off automatically to be able to show the file in screen.
